Maison Velle is a five-person team in Biel, Switzerland. We look for occasion dresses where the price reflects the garment rather than the label — and we bring them to the UK.
Why we started
It began with a frustration you may recognise.
You save for something for an occasion that matters. You buy from a house whose name you know, at a price that makes you pause before you click. Then it arrives, and you turn it inside out — and the seams, the lining, the finish are fine. Ordinary. Nothing about the garment itself explains the number on the tag.
We are five people who care about clothes, and we kept having that experience. So we set out to do the opposite: find pieces where the price is about the dress rather than the marketing behind it, and sell them at that price.
We won’t tell you we out-sew a couture atelier. What we will tell you is that a large share of a luxury price tag is the name — and we would rather you spent your money on the dress.
How we try to keep that honest
- The fabric composition is on every product page. You should know what you are buying before it arrives, not after.
- Measurements, not guesswork. Every size is listed in centimetres and inches, and our size advisor turns your own measurements into a recommendation — including when it is only an approximate fit.
- No invented discounts. You will not find a crossed-out “was” price on this site, and nothing is permanently on sale. The price is the price.
- We will talk you out of it. If a piece will not work for your measurements or your occasion, we would rather say so and keep you as a customer than sell you a dress you send back.
Where the clothes come from
We do not make the clothes. We choose them.
The products sold through Maison Velle are manufactured by Miss Rosier. Maison Velle is the vendor and customer-facing retailer. We are authorised to resell these products and use the accompanying product imagery under the manufacturer’s wholesale programme.
You do not have to take our word for that. The brand will confirm it directly: write to hello@missrosier.com and ask about Maison Velle.
Orders are picked, packed and dispatched by Miss Rosier’s fulfilment facility in New Jersey, USA, and returns go back to the same facility. Our office, our customer service and the company that sells to you are in Switzerland. We would rather you knew that before you ordered than worked it out from the parcel.
Why buy here rather than direct
A fair question, and one we would ask too. Three honest answers.
- Your rights are British ones. Fourteen days to change your mind, the refund goes back to your original payment method, and there is no restocking fee. Not store credit. Not seven days. That is how UK consumer law works, and we would rather follow it than test it.
- Someone reads your email. Send us your measurements and the occasion and one of the five of us will tell you which piece works — including when the answer is none of these, try this instead. European time zone, same working day.
- The choosing is the service. We carry a fraction of what exists, deliberately. Every piece on this site is here because one of us decided it should be.
Delivery is free on every order, with no minimum.
